Pineapple Hill Villa - Stuart Membery
Recently, while in Bali hosting another two tours in late April and early May, Stuart Membery reached out to see if I would be interested in bringing my groups to show them his villa. Well, of course!
I met Stuart many years ago when he came to visit my store Coastal Vintage in Noosa and in 2023, he invited me to visit his newly renovated villa. With the beautiful Colonial style, who can resist a visit to this little piece of paradise in Bali.
Pineapple Hill Villa is the kind of place that instantly slows your pace and makes you breathe a little deeper. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by tropical gardens, layered jungle views, and beautifully curated interiors that feel both luxurious and deeply personal, and after meeting Stuart and having a tour of his home, the ladies came away very inspired.
Set against a crisp backdrop of spanking white floors, walls & ceilings, every corner of the villa reflects Stuart Membery’s signature eye for design — effortless, eclectic, and full of character. Think vintage textiles, handcrafted furniture, soft natural tones, and thoughtful details collected from across Indonesia and beyond. It’s inspiring without ever feeling overdone and wonderfully private and secluded. You can read more about it from my post in 2023 - see below in this post.
With the warehouse next door, now open as a shop, the ladies on the tour had a lovely opportunity to shop and take home a little piece of Stuart Membery for their own home.

July 2023 - Coastal Vintage Journal Post
While I was in Bali recently sourcing for the next container, international designer Stuart Membery reached out on Instagram and invited me to view his latest venture - Pineapple Hill Villa.
We met many years ago in the early days of Coastal Vintage when he came to visit my warehouse while on holidays in Australia.
We connected over a love of coastal and vintage style interiors.
Over a cool drink and afternoon tea, Stuart told me much about his life, including his modelling and fashion designing days
(remember the clothing brands Espirt & Stuart Membery in the 1980/90s?) and also reminisced about his life living all over the world.
And, I soon learnt that he also spent a part of his childhood in my home town of Dubbo - located in central NSW and that we had mutual friends.
Situated on Batu Belig Berawa, it is a hidden oasis away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Seminyak, and has a rice paddy that is still farmed today located just beyond the front door.
Stuart kindly showed me through his stunning villa and explained the ideas and inspiration behind each room he styled.
Everything in the villa has been designed and created by him including the textiles and all of this can be found in his online store.
The villa is all set against a crisp backdrop of spanking white floors, walls & ceilings which highlight his style and beautiful textiles.
Consisting of four deluxe bedrooms with indoor and outdoor ensuites, the villa comfortably sleeps up to eight adults with plenty of privacy to spare.
The large open-air living/dining pavilion is a marvel of unstudied chic. Coastal style mixed with a dash of chinoiserie.
Lounge under the breeze of overhead fans on sumptuous rattan sofas covered in fabrics by Stuart and also Ralph Lauren.
Colours, patterns and photographs coalesce into a light hearted mix.
At Pineapple Hill Villa no detail in luxury and barefoot comfort combined has been overlooked.
With a huge thanks to Stuart for such a memorable afternoon.
